Every year, under the auspices of the Speaker of the Senate, the National Prayer Breakfast is being organized in Ottawa, where leaders from all walks of life meet in the spirit of Jesus Christ.

Since 2006, the National Christian Youth Summit (formerly known as the National Student Forum), has been organized in conjunction with the National Prayer Breakfast to provide an opportunity for youth and young adults to meet and converse with those who serve on and around Parliament Hill.

The Summit allows participating in round-table and panel discussions designed to help discover what it means to bring faith into our nation be that in schools, churches, politics or the public sphere.

The Summit is also an opportunity for young people to meet other like-minded youth across the nation that are passionate about living out their calling and relationship in Jesus Christ.

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, proclaimed the “2018 Year of Youth”. Thus, since 2018, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate, has been giving blessings to provide institutional support to young leaders to partake in the Summit. This year, Patil Imasdounian, Annie Markarian, and Décile Tachdjian participated in the National Christian Youth Summit held on May 1-3, 2019. Their participation was made possible thanks to the generous support of Mr. Levon Afeyan and Mr. Ohan Ohanessian.

Throughout the three days of the Summit, Patil, Annie, and Décile got a chance not only to be part of the Youth Summit, but also to participate in the Leadership Dinner and the National Prayer Breakfast.

In future, the Diocese will continue providing institutional support for the youth to be part of this important youth program provided by the Parliament.
