On Sunday, April 21 2013, in commemoration of the 98th anniversary of more than 1.500.000 Armenia Martyrs of the Genocide between perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks, joint Divine Liturgy was celebrated at St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church of British Columbia.
The Very Rev. Fr. Hrant Tahanian, Pastor of St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Divine Liturgy accompanied by Deacons Jamil Kevranian, Antranik Teghararian, Ohan Gureghian, Aris Ghasabian, sub-deacon Aram Baghamian and Shiraz Kassardjian, acolyte Levon Sarkees, choir members lead by choir-master Arman Hosepyan.
The homily theme Ez. 37.1-7 and Jn. 5.25 was delivered by Arch-priest, Rev. Keghart Garabedian, Pastor of St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church of BC.
After the sermon, in memory of the Genocide Martyrs a requiem service and blessing of “Madagh” ceremony was held in front of the Genocide Commemoration “Khachkar” outside the Church.
