E1On Sunday, October 13, His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patrirach and Catholicos of All Armenians, will consecrate a newly built church in Yekaterinburg, Russia, a city famous for being the final residence of Tsar Nicholas and the Russian royal family before they were executed by the Bolsheviks in 1918.

The Armenian Diocese of Russia recently celebrated another major milestone with last month’s consecration of the newly-built Cathedral of the Holy Transfiguration, located in Moscow. The cathedral and its surrounding buildings will serve as the seat of the Armenian Church Diocese of New Nakhichevan and Russia, whose Primate Bishop Yezras Nersisyan led the seven-year construction effort.
