“His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstanian offered his pastoral visit to St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church community on Sunday, Feb. 10 2013.
He celebrated the Great Lent Divine Liturgy assisted by the Church Pastor, acolytes and the choir members, which was led by choirmaster Mr. Arman Hosepyan.
He delivered the Sunday message and presided over a special requiem service in memory of the first primate of the Canadian Diocese, blessed memory Archbishop Vazken Keshishian and also in memory of the deceased souls of the founders, the benefactors, the executive members and the faithful who served St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church. Also a requiem service was held in memory of deceased Maritsa Kucuk 40th day and Manoog Gul 3rd anniversary. After the Church service a procession took place to cut the ribbon of the newly renovated Setrak Kalpakian hall by Mr. Vahagk Kurkcioglu.
After a memorial luncheon, around 3:00 pm., His Grace presided over the Annual General Assembly of the Church, which annually takes place on the Great Lent Sunday. The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm.
On Monday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 pm His Grace met the new PC members and suggested an idea to establish a committee, similar to “HAYDOUN” committee in the Diocese, to assist new comers in variety of needs to adapt the Canadian life style.
His Grace also suggested some activities to get the involvement of many people for the growth and strength of the social life of the community and the Church.
On Wednesday, Feb. 13 His Grace will meet in Victoria with Honorable John Yap the Minister of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism. His Grace will accompany, Archpriest, Rev. Keghart Garabedian, DD Shahin
Sohieli, Member of Diocese Trusty Committee Hasso Essmailian, DD Maestro Armen Martirossyan and PC v. Secretary Shant Tersakian. His Grace also will priside over the Peace Time Compline at 7:00 pm. at St. Vartan Apostolic Church. He will return to Montreal on Thursday, Feb. 14 2013″
