On the occasion of the 39th annual diocesan assembly, on Sunday, May 28, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate, celebrated Divine Liturgy at Holy Cross Church of Laval. During the liturgy, His Grace consecrated the altar icon dedicated to Saint Mary, which was generously donated by Mr. and Mrs. Arden and Christine Dervishian. The diocesan Primate expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the donors and bestowed special blessings upon the Dervishian family. The liturgy was graced by the prayerful presence of His Grace Bishop Ashot Mnatsakanyan, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Egypt.
Bishop Hovakimyan was joined by Rev. Archpriest Zareh Zargarian, the Vicar and Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Toronto, and Rev. Fr. Komitas Mirzakhanyan, the Parish Priest of Holy Cross Armenian Church of Laval, along with deacons and acolytes, who assisted him during the liturgy. The momentous occasion was attended by diocesan delegates and a multitude of devoted worshippers.
