On Sunday, April 7th, 2013, on the occasion of Annunciation to St. Mary, the Mother of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Rev. Archpriest Zareh Zargarian, Pastor of the Holy Trinity Armenian Church invited mothers and their children who participated in Holy Liturgy to receive special blessing.
This is a beautiful tradition in the Armenian Church that celebrates the Day of Motherhood and Blessing of Families on this festive day.
The Feast of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary (Avedoumn Sourp Asdvadzadzini) comes nine months before Christmas on the seventh of April in the Armenian Liturgical calendar. It is the celebration of the announcement of the forthcoming birth of Christ to the Virgin Mary as recorded in the Gospel of Luke. (Press Office)
