D1The locum tenet of Armenian Church Canadian Diocese Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian paid a visit to Ontario parishes from August 16 to 20th, 2013.

On Sunday, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Catherine’s on the Feast of Assumption of St. Mary. The following day, he paid his first visit to Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Toronto. The Parish Priest, Rev. Archpriest Zareh Zargarian welcomed His Eminence and accompanied him during the meetings throughout the day.

D2His Eminence started early by meeting with the campers, staff & volunteers of Ararat Summer Youth Camp, who were leaving for a week of camping near Kingston, Ontario. Before departure, everyone gathered inside the church; following the prayer, Archbishop Nathan gave his fatherly advice to children, blessed them all and wished them safe and happy week of camping.

His Eminence met with the executive members of Children’s Fund For Armenia and Women’s Central Guild Committee. Both committees’ members welcomed Serpazan and extended their immediate support to his mission in Canadian Diocese. A report about CFFA was presented by Mrs. Diana Bogosyan and Mrs. Louisa Kerim. A member and the liaison of the Diocesan Council, Mrs. Apet Alpay was also present in both meetings.

D3Later on His Eminence paid a visit to AGBU and was welcomed by Ms. Knar Basmajian, Chair & Mrs. Salpi Der Ghazarian, Executive Director, and members of the board. Srpazan toured the AGBU Toronto Chapter premises.

The day ended by meeting with the Parish Council, the Diocesan Delegates and the representatives of the Holy Trinity Armenian Church auxiliary bodies and committees. On behalf of the parishioners of the church, Fr. Zareh welcomed Serpazan Hayr and introduced him to people present. The chairman of the Parish Council, Mr. Ohan Ohanessian welcomed Serpazan and briefly spoke about the Holy Trinity Armenian Church and its mission. The representatives of auxiliary bodies and committees spoke about their missions, programs, and services working under the umbrella of HTAC. Fr. Zargarian spoke about the importance of the upcoming 85th Anniversary of establishment of the Holy Trinity Parish of Toronto and outlined the schedule of events.

D4Archbishop Nathan expressed his joy and greatly appreciated the hard work that Holy Trinity Armenian Church Auxiliary Bodies and Committees are conducting in a harmonious and peaceful manner by serving our beloved people and the church under the leadership of Fr. Zargarian & the Parish Council.

The meeting adjourned with the closing remarks and blessing of Archbishop Hovhannisian.
