Gabriel Selyan, son of Mona and grandson of Arthur Minas and Azad, swore his allegiance to the Canadian Armed Forces on Tuesday May 17, 2011. This formality marked the end of “Kapo’s” youth and his former membership of the Governor General’s Horse Guards Cadet Corps.

Gabriel is pursuing the Army trade of Vehicle Technician, and will belong to the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Branch of the Canadian Forces. Each Vehicle Technician is a member of a team responsible for maintaining, repairing and overhauling CF land vehicles and related equipment to keep them in top condition.

Gabriel is currently in the 14-week Basic Training course in the garrison located at St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. After “boot camp”, he will be posted to CFB Borden for 18 months for further training. Please join us in congratulating Gabriel and the Selyan family, and wishing him good luck and the Lord’s blessing in his chosen path.
