On Sunday, September 23, 2012 as part of his annual pastoral visit to Western parishes, His Eminence Bishop Bagrat Galstanian, Primate of the Canadian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, arrived from Calgary to Vancouver, BC to visit St. Vartan Armenian Church community.
His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the message of the day dedicated to the 21st. Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia.
During a special Church Service, after the sermon of the day, His Eminence, surrounded by the faithful congregation, accompanied by the Pastor, acolytes, deacons, choir master and choir members of the Church, presided over the procession to bless and raise the flag of Armenia, outside the Church.
After the Church Service, during a reception at Setrak Kalpakian Hall, His Eminence and Levon Sarkees, a 2012 CYMA participant, cut the celebratory cake to mark the occasion.
