D1Mr. Harout Chitilian, a candidate during the upcoming City of Montréal municipal elections- as councilor for Bordeaux-Cartierville visited the Diocese of the Armenian Church and met with His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian.

Mr. Chitilian is a well-known and respected young politician in the municipal scene and a member of our community who served the residents of Bordeaux-Cartierville during the last four years with great dedication and efficiency. As President of the City Council since June 2011, he presided over the Council in the most turbulent times of the City of Montreal and was praised by veteran politicians, citizens and pundits for his exemplary role.

During the meeting with Archbishop Nathan, Mr. Chitilian gave detailed information on his work in the last four years and outlined his plan for the future. His Eminence expressed his joy for this opportunity and congratulated Mr. Chitilian for the work he accomplished in the last four years, serving the residents of Bordeaux Cartierville as councilor, and the Montreal community at large, as President of the City Council. Serpazan Hayr also praised the role of Mr. Chitilian in the strengthening of bilateral relations between Montreal and Yerevan as sister cities. His Eminence then gave his blessing and benediction to Mr. Chitilian and wished him to celebrate victory in the municipal elections on November 3, 2013.

Municipal elections will be held in the city of Montreal on November 3, 2013 as part of the 2013 Quebec municipal elections. Voters will elect 65 positions on the Montreal City Council, including the mayor, borough mayors, and city councillors, as well as 38 borough councillors.
