On Monday, April 7, the Feast of the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary, Holy Etchmiadzin hosted a meeting of yeretzgins, who traveled from throughout Armenia and Nagorno-Karabagh to take part.
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, presided over the gathering of 120 wives of priests. Presentations for the day included such topics as “The Role of the Yeretzgin in Pastoral Life” and an overview of the “Light to Children” education project undertaken by yeretzgins in the Aragatsotn diocese.
Catholicos Karekin II concluded the meeting with his blessings and message. “I offer my appreciation to the priests’ wives, who bring honor to their spouses and glory to our Holy Church, serving as a beautiful example to others” he said.
