On Friday, February 22, 2013, Bishop Bagrat Galstanian visited St. Vartan Armenian parish of Mississauga and presided over the Great Lent Vesper Service.
At the beginning of the service parish priest Fr. Myron Sarkissian welcomed and thanked the primate for his visit. Following the service, His Eminence greeted the parishioners and wished them a blessed Lenten season, full of prayer and repentance to renew our spirit and live according to the will of God.
Following the vesper service, the parishioners came together at a family gathering evening organized by the auxiliary bodies of St. Vartan parish. This monthly gathering is an opportunity for our families to come together, the elderly people and young men to discuss, play chess or backgammon, meanwhile women come together to learn new Armenian recipe. During this Lent season they learned how to bake TAHINOV HATZ – ԹԱՀԻՆՈՎ ՀԱՑ, the children have fun with movie night and the ACYOC junior and senior groups meet to plan future activities.
Our primate also joined the family gathering that night and had discussions with the parishioners.
