The Canadian Armenian Apostolic Diocesan Camp Ararat was proud to host its 9th annual youth summer camp with close to 110 youths throughout the week of August 19-24th, 2013. This year’s participants’ ages ranged from 8 through 18 and came from Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Laval and Ottawa. Our departure from Holy Trinity Armenian Church was blessed by prayer and a few words by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian, Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian and Rev. Fr. Myron Sarkissian.
Upon arriving at Wesley Acres the campers inaugurated the week at camp with the raising of the Armenian flag and a short word by his H.E. Mr. Armen Yeganian Ambassador Extraordinaire of the Republic of Armenia in Ottawa. This year campers explored the story of our beloved Artsakh through art, drama and games, as well as commemorating the Armenian Apostolic Divine Liturgy and learning its significance with Der Myron our camp clergy. We then ended the week on Saturday with a Divine Liturgy and communion by Der Myron before our departures home.
