Reverend Father Mesrop Aramian, filmmaker of the documentary, From Ararat to Zion, will be visiting Montreal to participate in two very special events by the invitation of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Canada. Fr. Mesrop Aramian is a priest of the Armenian Apostolic Church, a theologian, scholar, writer and translator. He is the founder and director of the Gandzasar Theological Center, a leading research and publishing center in Armenia specialized in the fields of spirituality, culture, history and education.

We are happy to announce that on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 7 p.m., the Mountain Lake PBS television station will broadcast the TV premier of, Reverend Father Mesrop’s multiple awards winning documentary, From Ararat to Zion.  From Ararat to Zion tells the story of the Armenian presence in Holy Jerusalem from the early beginnings of Christianity. This film documents the role and destiny of small nations in the history of humanity. The documentary pays tribute to the millions of Armenian pilgrims who, with a deep devotion and willingness to sacrifice, contributed significantly in preserving the spiritual traditions and legacy of the Holy Land.

Following the showing of this film, Father Aramian will take part in a live interview at the PBS station, with the participation of Mr. Viken Attarian,   past chairperson of the AGBU.  Please note that the same programme will also be rebroadcast, on Sunday April 24, 2011 at 4pm

During this visit, Father Aramian will also participate in a Symposium entitled “Education for Unity: The AYB Model for Armenian Children,” cosponsored by AGBU Montreal This event will be held on March 19, 2011, from 10:30 in the morning through to 3:30 in the afternoon, at Jirair and Elise Dervishian Hall of the Montreal AGBU Hall.  Reverend Father Aramian will present an approach for unity based on education.
