On Tuesday, March 21, 2012 His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Archbishop Marek Solczynski, the newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio for the Roman Catholic Church in the South Caucasus.

His Holiness greeted the Archbishop and welcomed his new appointment. The Armenian Pontiff expressed satisfaction with the existing brotherly relations and cooperation between the two Churches. His Holiness recalled the visit of Pope John Paul II to Armenia in 2001, on the occasion of the 1,700 Anniversary of Christian Statehood.

Archbishop Solczynski assured His Holiness that he would work to contribute towards strengthening cooperation between the Armenian Church and the Roman Catholic Church. His Holiness conveyed his salutations to the Roman Pontiff, wishing success to the newly appointed Nuncio in his mission.

The Nuncio’s residence will be in Tibilisi, Georgia.
