On the evening of April 28, 2012, over 200 Armenian parents and children, under the auspices of His Eminence Bishop Bagrat Galstanian, St. Vartan Armenian Church of Mississauga celebrated the 10th anniversary of St. Vartan Camp, the only day camp under the Diocese of Canada for children.

 

At the start of the event more than 40 children under the age of 13 were entertained by Enguerner with children’s songs, following which the newly formed children’s choir Noor performed three Armenian songs with their conductor Frank Petizian accompanied by Robert Petizian on the guitar. For the evening, entertainment was provided by Hye Fidelity and DJ Sounds of Med.

 

The event was organized by Christine Ermarkaryan, Ani Altounian, Taline Paroyan and Houri Simonian who have also worked tirelessly to organize the Camp during each of its 10 successful years. Mrs. Mano Artinian also provided critical assistance in preparing for the event. On behalf of the Primate, Bishop Bagrat Galstanian, Rev. Fr. Myron Sarkissian thanked the organizers and the devoted camp teachers.

 

Camp St. Vartan’s 10th session will take place during the week of July 9th at Fogolar’s Country Club in Milton and will host more than 50 children, junior and senior counsellors. Details of the camp can be found on the new camp website www.saintvartancamp.com
