On July 6, 2012 participants of Canadian Youth Mission to Armenia (CYMA) left for Armenia to implement a renovation project in the school of Geghadir village. The group of Canadian Armenians led by Deacon Ivan Gyadayan was received at Zvartnots airport in Yerevan by the Church youth group of Etchmiadzin. Our youth already started the renovation work in the school with the participation of villagers and local youth group. They visited several Churches and had a meeting with Father Tajat, the Youth Director of St. Sarkis Armenian Church in Yerevan. CYMA, the Canadian Youth Mission to Armenia, is a Canadian, volunteer led humanitarian and exchange program focused on redevelopment, community projects, and humanitarian aid distribution and student exchange. CYMA was founded in late 1992 through collaboration between Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, then primate of the Canadian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, and university student Ronald Alepian.
