On Sunday, February 10, 2013 the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the feast of Great Paregentan. The celebrant of the day was Rev. Fr. Vazgen Boyajyan, Pastor. At this time of the year the curtain of the church altar is closed, and the parishioners are not able to take Holy Communion for 7 weeks.
In his sermon, Rev. Fr. Vazgen Boyajyan pointed the importance of 40 day lent period in the Christian life, he emphasized that it is the best period for self-examination to control ourselves to come out from our bad habits, and also it is a period for forgiveness to our sins.
Following the Divine Liturgy a blessing service took place for the newly engaged and married couples. Rev. Fr. Vazgen Boyajyan blessed the couples and invited them to pray and asked once again that the Almighty God renew their vows towards each other. Afterwards, a reception followed at Vatche Hovsepian hall of the Church.
