Holy Divine Liturgy was held on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral of Montreal presided by Rev. Fr. Vazgen Boyajian, pastor with the participation of Rev. Fr. Komitas Mirzakhanyan, Pastor of Holy Cross Armenian Church of Laval. Following the Holy Badarak, Fr. Vazgen delivered his sermon stressing the importance of the presence of God in our lives.
Immediately following the morning Mass, a “Mitchink” luncheon service of Lenten foods, organized by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Church, was held in “Marie Manoogian Hall. Rev. Fr. Komitas spoke about St. Santoukht, who sacrificed herself to remain steadfast in her Christian faith. The “Mitchink” day is also known as Hye Serpouineroun Or (Armenian Saints Day).
This wonderful occasion was made even more enjoyable with the participation of Mr. & Mrs. Harutyunyan and Natahlie Mnatzaganian. They performed spectacular musical pieces, presenting the musical art of Armenian and Italian cultural heritages.
The parishioners were delighted with the service and musical program and expressed their enthusiasm and gratitude to the Pastor and the Ladies Auxiliary Committee of our Church.
