One week before the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Armenian Church celebrates the Feast of Palm Sunday, celebrating the Triumphant Entry of Christ into Jerusalem.
On Sunday March 24, 2013, Rev. Fr. Myron Sarkissian celebrated the Palm Sunday Divine Liturgy at St. Vartan parish of Mississauga, alongside with 12 altar servers (deacons and acolytes). During his sermon Der Myron mentioned the shortest verse of the Bible “Jesus wept” asking why should that happen and what was the main reason, and how is that related to Jesus saying; “My house is a house of prayer”?
Following the sermon, more than 40 children walked the traditional Palm Sunday procession and took part at the Children’s blessing ceremony.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the parishioners enjoyed Mississauga St. Vartan “Armenian Café” organized by the Junior ACYOC members and Sunday school children. They were serving and selling traditional Armenian cookies and souvenirs. During the “Armenian Café” gathering, there were special slide show and video presentations about Camp St. Vartan (Day Camp, Mississauga), Camp Ararat (Diocesan one week camp at Kingston), CYMA (Canadian Youth Mission to Armenia). Diocesan Director of the Christian Education and Youth Ministry Department, Deacon Ivan Gyadayan joined the Palm Sunday celebration.
It was an inspirational and blessed Palm Sunday for all parishioners.

Կիրակի, Մարտ 14-ին, Միսիսոկայի Ս. Վարդան եկեղեցին տօնախմբեց Քրիստոսի հրաշափառ մուտքը Երուսաղէմ։ Օրուան պատարագիչն էր հոգեւոր հովիւ՝ Տ. Միւռոն քհնյ. Սարգիսեանը իր հետ ունենալով 12 խորանի ծառայողներ։ Յաւուր պատշաճի քարոզի ընթացքին Տէր Հայրը անդրադարձաւ Ս. Գիրքի ամենակարճ համարին որ կ’ըսէ՝ Եւ Յիսուս Լացաւ։ Տէր Հայրը բացատրեց թէ ի՞նչն էր պատճառը եւ այդ պատճառի հետեւանքն է նաեւ որ ըսաւ՝ Իմ տունս աղօթքի տուն է։
Յաւարտ քարոզի այս տարուան Ծաղկազարդի տօնին մասնակցեցեան աւելի քան 40 մանուկներ եւ պատանիներ։
Եկեղեցւոյ Սրահին մէջ տեղի ունեցաւ ամենամեայ Armenian Café հաւաքը կազմակերպութեամբ պատանիներու եւ Կիրակնօրեայ վարժարանի սաներու։ Հաւաքի ընթացքին տեսահոլովակներ եւ նկարներով ներկայացուեցան Ս. Վարդան Ծուխի ամենօրեայ Ճամբարը, թեմիս Արարատ ճամբարն ու դէպի Հայաստան երիտասարդաց Առաքելութիւնը։ Օրուան ներկայացումներուն մասնակցեցաւ նաեւ Առաջնորդարանի Քրիստոնէական Դաստիարակութեան եւ Երիտասարդաց Ծառայութեան գրասենեակի տնօրեն՝ Իվան Սրկ. Գեադյանը։
