On March 15, 2015, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church Canadian Diocese presided over the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church of Laval Annual Assembly.
Rev. Fr. Komitas Mirzakhanyan invited Bishop Abgar to open the meeting with prayer. The meeting was called to order, with the elections of the officers. Mr. Jack Seraidarian and Mrs. Armig Demirdjian and Deacon Kami Saremanukoghlu were elected respectively as the Chairperson and the secretaries of the meeting.
During the meeting, the Assembly approved the minutes from the last year and discussed reports presented by the Pastor, Parish Council, Diocesan Delegates, Auxiliary Committees, Auditing Committee as well as financial statements. All the reports were approved by the Assembly. The budget for the year 2015 have equally been approved by the Assembly.
During the meeting, parish elections took place with the following results:
– Parish Council: Mr. Jack Seraidarian, Mr. Vahakn Arapyan, Mr. Arda Yapar, Mrs. Rouzanna Sarkissian and Mr. Krikor Tatoulian.
– Diocesan Delegates: Mrs. Hilda Tursucu.
– Auditing Committee: Mr. Alen Navasargian, Mrs. Shoghik Keushgerian and Mr. Raffi Pederian.
– Nominating Committee: Mr. Aris Tutunciyan, Mr. Gazer Yapar and Mr. Melkon Babkian.
In his closing remarks, Bishop Abgar praised the work done within Holy Cross Armenian Church and congratulated the Pastor and members of the Parish Council, the Auxiliary Committees as well as new elected members.
