C1On February 17, 2013 the Primate, Bishop Bagrat Galstanian presided over the 23rd Annual General meeting of St. Vartan Armenian parish of Mississauga. Prior to the meeting Bishop Bagrat blessed the congregation during the Divine Liturgy celebrated by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Myron Sarkissian.

Serpazan offered the opening prayer of the general meeting which was followed by a welcoming message by Assembly Chairman Mrs. Julia Dumanian. The secretary of the meeting was Deacon Van Vanes.

The assembly continued with the presentation of the reports and the financial statement. Following the report Mrs. Lilian Sevadjian presented the 2013 budget and there were some questions that were answered by the parish council chairman Mr. Vasken Altounian and the treasurer Mrs. Lilian Sevadjian. Nominating committee member Mrs. Lucy Hamboyan presented the list of nominated, new members of 2013 parish council, which was followed by the approval of the assembly. The 2013 St. Vartan Armenian Church of Mississauga Parish council 9 members are: Mr. Vasken Altounian, Mrs. Lilian Sevadjian, Deacon Van Vanes, Deacon Manuel Akcambazian, Ouraragir Meher Torossian. (New members) Mrs. Ani Kerametlian, Mrs. Aida Mirzayan, Mr. Loris Dumanian and Mr. Raffi Kevorkian.

C2In his closing remarks, His Eminence thanked all the supporters and members of the Church. “The new strength, feeling of the parish promises a brighter future, but we must all believe and work toward that brighter future.” Bishop Galstanian especially thanked all the members of the auxiliary bodies, former and new elected parish council members, the chair and the secretary of the General Assembly.

The Primate closed the 23rd Annual General Assembly with a prayer.
