On Sunday, December 11, 2011 St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral of Montreal marked 41st anniversary with a Holy Divine Liturgy. A wonderful occasion for all of us to rejoice, once again, for another year, full of celestial blessing and accomplishments in the life of our community.

His Eminence Bishop Bagrat Galstanian, Primate celebrated the Divine Liturgy with the assistance of Rev. Fr. Vazgen Boyajyan, Pastor. Serving the Holy Altar were the deacons and the acolytes of the Cathedral.  The Komitas church choir conducted by Maestro Deacon Varuzhan Margaryan made this day even more special by adding a great sense of warmth to the ceremony.

On this auspicious occasion, Mr. Ara Garmiryan received the prestigious St. Sahag-St. Mesrob Medal from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin for his many years of service and contribution to the Armenian culture and literature. Following the Church Ceremony, a requiem service for the repose of the souls of departed pastors, parish council members, benefactors, sponsors, members of the Church was held.

Also, an anniversary banquet organized by the parish council of the church took place in “Marie Manoogian” Hall. This year, by the decision of the Pastor and Parish Council members three people were honored for their significant contribution to the mission of our parish in Montreal.
