On Sunday, November 10, the Armenian community of Lodz, Poland, gathered for the blessing of a new khatchkar dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. The monument was installed at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Lodz through the efforts of the local Armenians.
The Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Tsatourian, pastor of the Armenians in Poland, blessed the cross stone in a special ceremony on Sunday. He also led the opening of a hall on the grounds of the Roman Catholic Church that will serve as a place of worship for the Armenian community, which doesn’t have a church of its own in Lodz. The hall was recently renovated by parishioners. A madagh luncheon followed.
